I don't think you will like what I have to say. The authors used Aspen Plus for the process simulation but they're using separate programming code for performing the exergy analysis. The Aspen Plus simulation along with a lot of references throughout the literature were compiled to get lots of values needed for the analysis; chemical and physical exergy values and a whole lot more.... to bring together the work. Using a crap load of references to put together the exergy model, equations, and parameters, this well-defined methodology for exergy analysis uses the Aspen Plus process simulation data of the components of the process streams to identify the specific chemical exergies. This was not an easy thing they did. I believe they are performing object oriented programming using Python software.

Which method do you think is the easiest and fastest to perform exergy analysis when l have a process simulated in Aspen Plus?

You are going to need the process simulation and there needs to be a model to follow for the exergy analysis. In the end you are trying to at least take into account the major impactors. It was mentioned in the article that the potential and kinetic exergy terms were neglected and they focused on physical and chemical exergy terms. Look where you can make assumptions and simplifications. As I recall from calculus class a long time ago, we assume a horse to be a sphere to make the math easier. In the end you are doing a mass and energy balance and the references are doing a good job. If you want the same kind of quality analysis then you might not be able to make things a whole lot easier.
