Hi All,

Has anyone successfully used any of the following amplifiers to measure ~0.8 nA calcium currents in ventricular myocytes under perforated patch (single electrode)?

  • Axopatch 200B Amplifier
  • MultiClamp 700B Amplifier
  • Axoclamp 900A Amplifier

To ensure Vm represents Vcmd, I've always used the discontinuous SEVC feature of an old 2B amplifier which I need to replace. As I understand it, only the "new" 900A is capable of dSEVC but the 200B and 700B have sophisticated capacity compensation algorithms in cSEVC. Are those capable of neutralising capacitance in large cells (ventricular myocytes) with relatively high access resistance (perforated patch)?

Any help gratefully received,

Best,

Dave
