Our lab uses Penstrep for assays that contain Adenovirus; however, PenStrep usage for Adeno-Associated Virus+ Adenovirus assays is not permitted. It's important to mention that assays that allow the usage of PenStrep contains A549 cells; whereas the Adenovirus-Associated Virus Assays contain either 293T or 293T-AC2. What would be the rationale for not using PenStrep?
