What do you think about normalization patients with tumors? I analyzed each individual patient usually and I didn't do normalization. How best to proceed?
I would like to do analysis of ROI in different planes by using DPARSF program.
You have to ask yourself what you are trying to do with the data. If you are trying to look at a group-level summation, normalization will allow you to do so, but with the realization that normalizing distorted brains may produce serious inaccuracies in spatial localization. This is usually done with application of a mask to the tumor region to improve normalization, but still can be imprecise. If you are assessing single-subject data then obviously normalization in unnecessary unless you are planning to use atlas features (such as an atlas-defined ROI). Perhaps if you wanted to be more specific about your analysis, we could add more helpful information.
