In the infectious disease modeling, how do I estimate the parameters of the deterministic model form the collected data? Would you share me your experience the technique of estimation?
If you're using a parametric model - whether your analysis is deterministic or not a maximum likelihood approach should suffice. There are plenty of information and tools in R and Python that make this task a simple one line of code.
I think you get better answers if you tell about the model you are working on. Your question is too general.
I think you can use a statistical approach after well identifying the variables and the parameters of your model to the available data.
