What will happen if the patient used carbamide peroxide to remove earwax when there is dizziness? I know dizziness could indicate inner ear problem, but what if the patient used carbamide peroxide while he is complaining of dizziness? Will there be adverse reactions like hydrogen peroxide could affect the inner ear?
I think it’s because dizziness may be indicative of a perilymphatic fistula or perforation of the oval window in which case the patient should see an otolaryngologis.
And if there is perforation or fistula, what will happen if the patient used carbamide peroxide? Will he/she affected negatively if that is the case? Donna Lisi

A perforated tympanic membrane or patent tympanos- tomy tube limits the options available for cerumen removal. The presence of a nonintact tympanic membrane may be assessed by history and/or physical examination. Depending on the irrigation solution used, infection, pain, or ototoxic hearing loss could result. In addition, use of irrigation in the presence of a perforated tympanic membrane could produce caloric effects resulting in vertigo. Mechanical removal of cerumen is the preferred technique when the ear drum is not intact.

Because I'd like to know if the contraindication in Q can be managed or it is absolutely not. Secondly, can I rephrase what you said with regard to dizziness? You mean that if the patient used carbamide peroxide while he is suffering tymanic membrane perforation, will suffer vertigo? Is that the rationale behind the contraindication?
