I an using the EVO LS10 SEM from Zeiss, I can see images on spot 0 of the aperture, however when the aperture is switched to spot 1 or 2, I am unable to see any image. Please what could be responsible for this? Thank you
Most likely, in position 0 you have no aperture or the 750 µm. In position 1 and 2 you have 30 and 20 µm intermediate apertures. Either you have an aperture alignment problem and you need to use the centering micrometer to adjust in conjunction with focus wobble. Or the image is simple too dark. When moving from 0 to 1, be sure that image in 0 is very bright (too bright), so that you get any signal through with 30 micron aperture, or that you get a faint glow when you get close to the aperture if it is seriously mis-aligned. So increase contrast in position 0 to very excessively white, then switch to 1 or 2. If neither of those work, you may have dirty apertures. Those are the most likely scenarios, but there are other options as well. Then provide full set of operating conditions.
