I am using the Sentinel-1 SLC image to detect oil spills, but I don't have a way to validate oil spills. what is the appropriate method for achieving an oil spill? is it the visual interpretation enough to complete my work? please I need help
That depends on the aim of the research, if the purpose is to determine the location of the leakage, then your work ends up finding its location, but if the goal is to locate the site of the leakage and the amount of oil spill then it is necessary to move to the stage of studying the discharge or leakage (calculations of hydraulic-permeability and pressure difference).
Dear Bayan Hussien: Thanks for your interested and answering my question
My specialty is remote sensing. The aim of the research may be to locate oil spills only. Is the visual explanation appropriate for detecting and locating the oil slicks?
