Would you like to tell me - percent of adult OSA patients treated with dental appliance versus CPAP treatment?

WE dont have a comparative study on the effectiveness of dental appliances versus CPAP. But we already have a quite significant sample with dental appliances from mild to severe apnea that may be the subject of further research.

We did preliminary model to compare cost-effectiveness for OSA treatment options: CPAP versus OA versus surgery. The first problem that we faced it was that nobody can give us a guess about the treatment distribution among OSA population. Like how many patients initially treated with CPAP versus other types of treatment and, for example, if patients failed CPAP how many patients (%) changed to other options. Also in almost trials effectiveness usually assesses based on AHI and the Epworth Sleepiness Scale. But for model, the outcomes that we are looking for are CV events, mortality, motor vehicle crashed.

Do you have results regarding OA effectiveness based on CV related consequences?

generally the lighter the OSA the more frequent MAD are well tolerated and more often used in severe OSA with high CV risk CPAP is the first-line therapy - I like MAD they can do wonders especially if the patient has bruxism

Do you have data about your patients adherence to OAs? In all studies presented effectiveness of CPAP treatment regarding prevention of CV events, CPAP compliance assessment is the most weak point.

Has anyone compared CPAP, nCPAP, CV, ... with biofeedback methods (acoustic, vibration, ...) in a study or something similar?
