I have data from an intervention pilot study of 30 participants randomly assigned to two groups (15 and 15). I have longitudinal data from both groups at baseline and 1-month.
I am considering a Linear Mixed Models approach to analyzing these data (as opposed to repeated measures ANOVA--for various reasons), but I am having trouble finding any guidelines regarding the inclusion of covariates--particularly the # allowable--relative to my sample size. I have several demographic variables that I would like to include as well as a measure of intervention dosage. I am familiar with the "one-in-ten rule" of regression. Is there a similar recommendation with respect to Mixed Models?
Resources/feedback appreciated. I am not terribly familiar with Mixed Models yet, so perhaps I am missing something obvious (?)
Thanks!
