I would like to know as many as possible commercially available nucleic acid extraction kits that DO NOT require thermal incubation after the lysing solution is added to the sample (or maybe no incubation at all). If you don't recall the exact name of the kit, the name of the manufacturer should suffice.

Thermo Scientific provides a plasmid isolation kit that doesn't require thermal incubation after lysis of the cells using their lysis buffer.
Qiagen miniprep or maxiprep kits are good for plasmid isolation and do not require any thermal incubation.

The detection of microbial nucleic acid for the diagnosis of infection is dependent on the successful separation of nucleic acid from clinical material. Many of the most popular kits use spin column technology because, in general, this approach is easily integrated into laboratories with standard equipment. Incubation may not be required, but extraction methodology adopted should be chosen carefully.
There are five basic steps of DNA extraction that are consistent across all the possible DNA purification chemistries such as: 1) disruption of the cellular structure to create a lysate, 2) separation of the soluble DNA from cell debris and other insoluble material, 3) binding the DNA of interest to a purification matrix, 4) washing proteins and other contaminants away from the matrix and 5) elution of the DNA.
