I am using a monoclonal antibody from Abcam for co-immunoprecipitation experiments, but it doesn't seem to be working. Abcam don't specify whether or not this Ab is suitable for IP experiments, but it is suitable for ICC and IF (not IHC-P), so I assume it can recognise the protein in its native state.

My protein of interest is 14kDa, and I cannot see it after western blotting my eluates, but I am getting bands in the flowthrough and input samples.

I am seeing bands where the IgG heavy and light chains should be too.

Is there any reason why this Ab would not be suitable for IP, or any troubleshooting advice anyone can give?
