No streamlines present means whether the flow is getting obstructed there and the velocity inside the region is zero? Or else, the fluid is trapped inside that region with a nonzero velocity? Please help me with an example like flow over a rectangular block etc.
Maybe you should check better, you should see closed streamlines in a recirculating region. How are you generating the streamlines?

In these areas, to display streamlines, you need to create a line and generate streamlines that start from that line.
No streamlines will mean that there is no fluid flow at that region, as streamlines represent the direction taken by a fluid element at a given time.
The blank space that is seen is the wake effect due to the cylindrical body, it is the region of recirculation of fluid, if that answers the question.
It is only a graphical issue, you need to zoom in and create the closed streamlines in the recirculation region.

In my experience, it does not necessarily mean anything. There are few methods to check that region; first; make an isosurface or several different isosurfaces near that region, increase the resolution as much as your system works, then you could find all phenomena. Besides, you can change your streamline from velocity to pressure, because it is much easier for capturing gradients. Last but not least, you can define a function and monitor the results in your targeted region. However, I think the two latter methods would work.
