No rings in bottom of wells for positive control?

I have been growing E. coli and P. aeruginosa strains in my biofilm formation assays. However recently, after washing the crystal violet off with water, there appears not to be any rings of crystal violet even in my control wells which show that biofilms are being formed (which is noticeable as intense purple colour after adding acetic acid is not seen).

Can anyone help?
