We are working on the same aspect as mentioned in the article above, but are facing certain technical issues. When ninhydrin was dissolved with butanol and acetic acid, a double layer of liquid was formed. So we used ethanol instead of butanol along with acetic acid to dissolve ninhydrin. There was no layer formation, but the readings were not in agreement with the high and low standard respectively.
