Dear researchers, I am looking for phd dissertation topics (ideas) on digital marketing. I plan to target the SMEs (maybe their digital marketing officer) as my respondents for this empirical research. However, I need ideas on what I should specifically research about.

The question is confusing
i am not sure PhDs are done without research
you need to decide what you want to research, why, what you want to know and how, what distinguishes your enquiry from precious research or what you add to previous research and in what way, which methods and why etc , how you will validate and or test or weight your findings and also your philosophical approach ie paradigms, ...ontology, epistemology..axiology
so i am not sure how you estimate word count before you decide all this
