I am mechanical Engineering doing research in 3d printable bone. ( my problem statement is I want to print a bone and to insert in the human body to find the deviations as a mechanical Engineer). In this regard, material I was not able to find the correct resource to find the 3d printable materail which i can print and insert in bone, the material may be composite once or I will test that material and compare with original bone properties and do analysis and feasibility study. This is what the proposal is but as a mechanical engineer I couldn't able to identify appropriate keywords to search the literature review and earlier findings if any one can suggest that will be a great help
In addition to the above is their any software to test material combination, biocompatible feasibility checker like that
Hello fellow Researcher, I am too working on scaffold designing with additive manufacturing. Biocompatibility and implant longevity is one of the crucial parameters which is to be considered foremost while selecting any biomaterial.

I would like to add that the design for additive manufacturing will play an important role to satisfy the compatibility of the additively manufactured implants to the human body. The design of lattice structure or porous material structure is one of the important keys to the material selection.

Normally, Titanium based alloys are suitable for bones. But you check the compatibility and feasibility for your research area.

I have been working with printable materials bone tissue regeneration.
Since it is a generic question I will only state some keyworks
There is big effort from GE to print Metals via EBM (Ti alloys and so on)
There is ceramic printing via "slurry"/robo casting and other ways using polymers as vehicle and removing it (thermo decomposition). Most of the ceramics include calcium phosphates (Hydroxyapatite, TCP, amorphous calcium phosphates, combinations of HA or TCP with ion substitutes (Sr, for instance), and bioglasses (45S5 and many others)).
Regarding polymers, that is my expertise, polyesters as PCL, PLA (PLLA, PLGA, PDLLA) are the most used and their lack of bioactivity is overcome by combining with bioactive ceramics (the same described before). However the incorporation might differ if you have a FDM/FFF equipment (requires filaments) or 3D plotting (direct via syringe/extruding system).
