In N-S equation - (∂(ρu))/∂t+ ∇ .(ρuV)= - (∂p )/∂x+ ∂τxx/∂x+∂τyx/∂y+ ∂τyx/∂z+ ρ fx, what does the second term on the left hand side mean physically.

Some explanations state that the second term is just the influence of diverging path through which the fluid moves, some state that it is the convection term. I fail to correlate!

I know that the first term is the rate of change of momentum of the fluid particle, on the right hand side - Pressure acting on the fluid particle , the stress tensors and external forces if any.
