in MFC , when using Nafion membrane and K3Fe(CN)6 in the cathode I doubt the passage of the Fe to the anodic compartment , because the anodic medium was yellow colored.
I am sure water can pass through the Nafion but Fe molecule is large and can not be pass through Nafion. You can do ICP-AES of anode medium to confirm the same.
When I worked with a Nafion as a separator of my electrochemical reactor I found the Fe+2 moving from the anodic to the cathodic compartment. In that case I was carrying out an electrowinning and the cathode was the negative electrode.
In your case, the anode is the negative electrode, then, iron can pass from cathodict to anodic compartment as the anode is negatively charged and attracting them.
