Please, I need help with the following topic: I've started studying multicriteria decision-making methods to apply to a hospital's pharmaceutical supply center. I want to help the supply manager decide whether to purchase the medication within the normal timeframes, whether it's an emergency purchase, or whether it's necessary to purchase at all. The goal is to avoid medication shortages and reduce inventory to a level that doesn't have much investment, without compromising healthcare services. I'd like to know what types of methods are recommended? Can anyone suggest materials and examples?
in my opinion mcdm is not suitable for this purpose at all. but you can develop your own algorithm for this purpose. i mean you can decide if you had a certain level of profit by the sale of certain medicine in last 6 month then you should buy this at all. you should keep record of the sale. and if you have certain buy freequency daily and it is bellow a certain amount in stock you hould buy it and how imidieatly you should buy it you can create a formulae with the amout of profit and the sale frequency daily. so for this purpose an actual real working algoruithm will require you to create your own logic and your own algorithm.

there are many MCDM methods like TOPSIS, TODIM, VIKOR etc, all are good and proven methods. you can find related work in Google Scholar YouTube lectures of some methods are also available.
