I have to check adsorption of ammonia via synthetic matrix. Later on will take it for in-vitro analysis. Many have used a standard of (NH4)2SO4 but have added 2mM ammonium chloride for in-vitro studies. (NH4)2SO4 donot have toxicity effect, the only thing I can think of is it's ability to precipitate proteins. Is that the reason of using NH4Cl instead of (NH4)2SO4 ?
