Hello all, I have difficulty in understanding the Phase angle PLL of abc to dq transformation in Matlab simulink. A deatiled explaination would be much much better. How is the angle in this below simulink function is calculated. Thanks in advance. Your help is much appreciated.
If I understand correctly, you want the explanation of your Simulink diagram?
Well, the way I see your block diagram, what is going on is:
You pass your angular frequency through a digital integrator (using the forward Euler formula). This way, you get your "changing" angle from the sine.
You also add below the initial angle.
Then you limit it in the 0 - 2pi range via the MOD function.
After the mod function block, you have your angle, and you make a sine and cosine out of it.

The angle (theta) calculation is for the abc to dq transformation which is obtained by integrating the base frequency of the AC signal.
You may ignore my suggestion if you understood this problem. The way I do it is by the use of discrete VCO and setting the intial phase angle to give the sin(theta) and cos(theta) from the PLL, which can be used in your dq transformation.
