Hello, I wonder if anyone has any suggestions for a modelling course in R. PhD level. Ideally general, generalized, mixed effect. And including interpretation, expression. comparing models. non-parametric? thanks! Oh, and UK ideally or rest of Europe?
Suggest that you start by looking at the book Design and Analysis of Experiments with R by Lawson. Biostatistical Design and Analysis Using R by Logan might also be helpful as is the third link below by Quinn et al. However, you are covering an awful lot of material for one course. Thank you for your suggestions Thom and David. I think I'm hoping for something biological ideally, which the (very expensive - eek) books are but packaged in a course. I seem to have read so much and would like it all 'pulled together' with a course!!

Yeah, There are lot of packages available for modelling in R.
Which kind of modelling you are looking for.
Other than R we also have Analysis softwares which are open source can be used for Statistical Modelling.
Also let me know if I can help you out in this. (As I'm also working towards my PhD and assisting people in their Statistical Analysis).

Not to make a self-plug, but I just finished authoring two R courses on Lynda.com *specifically* aimed at my PhD and master's students who need to do forward stepwise logistic and linear regression modeling.
- The first demostrates a descriptive analysis (bivariate tests).
- The second demonstrates linear and logistic regression.
It's not everything you said you wanted, but it will get you going, and Lynda.com is cheap - only about $25/month to join.
