Hello everyone,
i am currently modeling a steel i girder bridge in abaqus, i would like to know how to model the contact between the girders and the bridge.
there is a total of 10 girders that all have the same dimensions and materials the spacing is constant, the girders were modeled as shell elements( top flanges, web and bottom flanges ) and then merged together to form the full girder using merge cut to create the rest of the girder the linear pattern was used. what i am struggling with is how to model the contact between the concrete deck and the girders???,
the research i did indicated that using a combo of Beam-MPC is and tie constraint is the best but, but as much as i searched i couldn't find clear instruction on how to do it.
