In attached photos, you will find green algae (?) from the Miocene glendonite-bearing rocks of Sakhalin (SEM photos of thin sections)
Is anybody can help with identification of these green algae and their paleoenvironmental interpretation? To my knowledge, these are the first green algae from the pre-Quaternary deposits of this region

the fossils are unusual, I think they are not dasycladales. The morphology recalls thaumatoporella, but it is not clear the nature of the skeleton.

Dear Mikhail,
the fossil is non-marine diatom Actinocyclus typical for mid-Miocene deposits of Japan Sea. See Hayash et al. 2018 The turnover of continental planktonic diatoms near the middle/late Miocene boundary and their Cenozoic evolution, in Plos One.
