My understanding is that the hydro-distillation is used to remove more volatile, but because I doubt whether sohxlet extraction can be used for this purpose.
I also doubt whether sohxlet extraction can be used for the microwave-assistant extraction. But there are some reports about the application of ionic liquid in the microwave-assistant extraction.
In my suggestion, if you can modify the domestic microwave assembly into vacuum assisted microwave distillation assembly, your work would be much easier.
