Dear fellow researchers, I am Master Student of Vienna University of Life Science and Im working on MFI vs SDI project. I am stuck on the curve calculation and I am kindly asking how to do so. On excel I have the values of litters the filter have filtered and the second of which it required to filter. So to get the s/L vs L curve I am dividing the seconds by the litters ( without no minus V2-V1) and if I get the curve it has a sharp point which looks nothing like the previous research works. The water is normal brine water with 250 mg/l TDSMFI

Just a comment for you. You might try plotting time (seconds) on x axis, and liters filtered on y axis, and you should get a curve that is smoothing out with time as the filter clogs, I would suppose. In excel, the plot or diagram option allows for analyzing for linear, logarithmic, exponential or perhaps other curves, will give r values, etc. and show curve. Once you develop your initial figure with points, axis units, etc., you can duplicate this by selecting and copying as many times as you want to adjust each one to look to see with adjustments if the data is best plotted on log scale, or which type of curve best describes the point scatter. By plotting sec/L by L, you dont have an independent variable, as both include L. Perhaps that is leading to a different looking curve. Since I dont know the specifics of your test or research, My suggestion may not fit your needs, and there are various ways to present data. The excel software can be very helpful in plotting and analyzing data, producing figures and basic statistical analysis. It is a great tool to become proficient in its use, and worth your time to explore options leading to presenting information that tells the story of your data.
