Can any expert/researcher tell me about the process or Method to remove sintered glass phases from Platinum Crucible. It is very hard to remove as can be seen from the picture. Previously I was trying the synthesis of CaO-SiO2 phases with Alumina crucible. Someone has advised to try with Platinum Crucible. But the same problem; I am facing now.
If you just want to remove the glass from the crucible, you can leave it in a bath in concentrated HCl for a few days. In a closed system, taking care of the vapors, perform the entire procedure in a chapel. A suggestion for heat treatment of glass is to do it in graphite molds, as it avoids damage to the platinum crucibles.
