I am trying to develop a methanation model in Matlab/Simulink. I need some suggestions regarding kinetics of the methanation process. Since there are many kinetics studies available in the literature so:
- Which factors we should consider before selecting the specific kinetics other than temperature, pressure and catalyst type?
- Any experimental data for methanation which can be used for the comparison?

What do you mean by "specific kinetics". But start with the reaction scheme. They must be linearly independent. Then the type of reactor. Mass and energy balances. Thermodynamics and kinetic equations with the value of parameters. And remember the kinetic equations relate to chemical reactions taking place in the presence of a particular catalyst but not process parameters. The initial temperature of the substrates, their concentration, pressure, volumetric flow rate, etc. will of course affect the result of the simulation calculations. Obviously, it is necessary to compare the computations with experimental data. Regards,
