Hi I have calculated effect sizes (Cohen's d) or SMD (for those who prefer it) and am having problems running a meta analysis in STATA. Does anyone know the coding for pooling by entering effect sizes?
NB : generally we enter mean SE or ORs, but i want to enter effect sizes

If you have extracted all the ESs, the proper option is to run:
metan *effect size variable* *standard error variable*, options
It is pretty the same that is done with OR, but instead of using your OR variable, you enter the effect size variable that you have created. Otherwise, I suggest updating the STATA package.
