I have observed confusion in Amos especially when you have more than one mediation on your model. For what i have observed, at the time you are analyzing the effect of mediation between the relationship, you have to do one mediator at a time. To get the individual results of mediators. In this case, as you report, the real confusion starts. You have to just have the table representing the results. Because if you report the model as it is from Amos, it cant give the real picture of what real happened in the process although it looks nice. But when you submit your work to the journal of interest. They always questions about it. So i have been asking myself. Are these reviewers real know how Amos works? Cause i am sure if the reviewer has never done these analysis can not understand at all. My observations show, most reviewers are used to other multivariate analysis and its hard for them to understand structural equation model. And sad enough, they are not ready to admit it. I suggest that, for the reviewers who have never done structural equation models should learn more about it. Therefore they can understand how to go through papers which their results examined using Structural Equation models.
