Mechanism of cell death by anti cancer drug and its prodrug are same or different?

Prodrug are pre-active form of drug.

Prodrug may defined as the drug which are Pharmacologically inactive in nature but get activated in presence of various stimuli into active form so that they are absorbed at the site of action.

Prodrug so have different Pharmacokinetic action but there pharmacodynamic action are same because its active form of drug which are effective not inactive form.
