Hi everyone,

We want to do some hippocampal volume measurements on Nissl stained coronal sections from mouse brains. We want to divide those measurements, distinguishing between dorsal, intermediate, and ventral parts of the hippocampus to evaluate changes in volume related to affective states and chronic stress (previous studies suggesting that ventral part is more sensitive than dorsal).

However, we can't seem to find a standard peer reviewed approach to measuring dorsal / ventral hippocampal volume in mice. Anyone have some advice? Or are willing to share their methods/materials with us?

Thanks for your help!
