Hello, I recently received HeLa cells for my experiments, and I followed the standard protocol to thaw them in DMEM medium supplemented with 10% FBS and and 1% penicillin-streptavidin-solution. However, after 24 hours of changing the medium, I noticed a significant decrease in cell viability. I ensured proper centrifugation during the thawing process. Has anyone else encountered this issue before? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I appreciate your detailed response greatly. Reflecting on the process, I've come to realize that the delay of cell growth might be attributed to my centrifugation of the cells at 4°C instead of room temperature . This cold shock could explain why they are taking longer than usual to recover.
