Does anyone know research that has used word stem completion or word fragment completion tasks to measure (dis)trust and/or paranoia?

Just a heads up: A lot of the implicit measures have been under fire lately for lack of usefulness. I have no idea if this applies in your particular situation/topic or with the articles linked by other commentators, but it may be worth looking into some criticisms of these methods and seeing if they apply to your proposed research ideas.

A paranoiac is a person who projects on the others his/her own malevolent feelings and intentions. Overt paranoia occurs when this person is terrified by the perspective of be unmasked.
Those who have a tactical interest in confusing distrust and paranoia are big deceivers, and their accomplices and flunkeys.
