Gas permeable fluorocarbon plates, wells and covers are available. This is the same material used to make rigid, gas perm contact lenses. They allow you to grow cultures without asphyxiating them. They also make imaging plates and other multi sample form factors. The typical construction is a thin FC film, as thin a 15 um, in a rigid frame. This normally will not disrupt your imaging of the samples. For cultures, you can get versions of these which are treated to enhance adhesion. The film, itself, can be cut into smaller pieces for imaging without disrupting the biofilm attached to it. Various makers, like MoBiTec, etc.
The Thomas Scientific option is interesting however not sure if this would be compatible with water-immersion objectives. The lumox dishes are great but again, don't work with high NA objectives. But I will give it all a try and let you know. Thank you again!!!
