When I think of it in retrospect, I tended to show a more positive attitude towards a student who was attentive, motivated, and interested. I felt synergy going on between us. This brought me a lot of satisfaction as a teacher, and showed me responsiveness on the part of the student, which was a good signal of this synergy. However, those who used to meddle with their mobile or drowse in class I treated with less sympathy and I even sometimes ignored their questions, tried to allude to their lack of motivation, or even sometimes ridicule them.

It is research of Maulana, Ridwan; Opdenakker, Marie-Christine; Bosker, Roel "Teacher-student interpersonal relationships do change and affect academic motivation: A multilevel growth curve modeling" Wiley Blackwell (Blackwell Publishing).

I think that the research gives you basic information about teacher-student motivations.

Motivational synergy!

Teaching a class full of motivated students is enjoyable for teacher and student alike. Some students are self-motivated, with a natural love of learning. But even with the students who do not have this natural drive, a great teacher can make learning fun and inspire them to reach their full potential.

A well motivated teacher, is a well coordinated teacher. When a teacher is well coordinated it will definitely has impact on the students and the impact will be positive. Teacher-student relationship is very important in teaching as this will help the teacher for effective delivery, it will help students to feel relax to gain knowledge in a conducive and friendly environment and the management will have a smooth running process as their will peace.

'Motivational Synergy' between a teacher and student helps both the stakeholders. I believe that the motivation levels of a teachers rubs off positively on the students which can help create this 'Motivational Synergy'. I have experimented and experienced by adapting innovative pedagogical and/or evaluation tools which help in improving the motivation of students which in turn will help in boosting teachers' motivation. Th ere is growing consensus that the nature and quality of children’s relationships with their teach-

ers play a critical and central role in motivating and engaging students to learn. Effective teachers are typically described

as those who develop relationships with students that are emotionally close, safe, and trusting, that provide access to instrumental help, and that foster a more general ethos of community and caring in classrooms. These relationship qualities are believed to support the development

of students’ emotional well-being and positive sense of self, motivational orientations for social and academic outcomes, and actual social and academic skills. Th ey also provide a context for

communicating positive and high expectations for performance and teaching students what they need to know to become knowledgeable and productive citizens.

In light of this interest in teachers’ relationships with students, a central question addressed in this chapter is how and why these relationships might be related to students’ motivation to achieve

academic and social outcomes at school. Toward this end, this chapter is organized around is-sues relevant for understanding the role that teacher-student relationships play in students’ lives.

First, the various theoretical perspectives that guide work in the field are described. Despite their common focus on the nature and functions of teachers’ relationships with students, each of these

perspectives provides unique assumptions concerning the causal role of teachers in promoting students’ motivation and subsequent competence at school. Next, research on teacher-student relationships that informs questions of causal infl uence is reviewed. Measurement and design

issues associated with this research also are raised. Finally, directions for future work in this area are off ered.

Hi.motivational synergy can enhance language learning and teaching. if teachers can emotionally scaffold learners, the result is students' engagement in class activities. in this case, due to students' positive feeling and energy by some teachers' strategies, teachers feel satisfied and excited. language learning can be fostered due to this two-way positive atmosphere.
