I am trying to increase the sulfur loading of my cathode using the doctor blade technique. I have no problem to achieve loadings of 1-2 mg/cm2, but i am not able to reach higher thicknesses/loadings.

- When I tried using a higher hight of the blade (e.g. increasing from 300 to 500 micrometers), the thickess/loading of the coating was more or less similiar after drying.

- I tried also doing two-step coating: First, one coating, and then the second one on top of the first dried coating. In this case, when I put the second layer and let it dry, the material peeled off from the Al foil.

Can anyone suggest some alternatives from the operative point of view? Is there any other technique, more suitable than the Dr. Blade, for the preparation of high sulfur loading cathodes?

Thank you!
