ligament reconstruction surgery does improve post op rehab and decreases hospital stay. ligament is basically a less vascularized tissue it takes time to heal......reconstruction helps to speed up recovery.

the post op rehab should be started early and effectively. i have seen a patient with un releasable knee flexion contracture after ACL reconstruction and the reason was NO POST OP REHAB. but those who came in right time were better in 4-6 months (return to function time)

he had arthoscopic reconstruction of ACL and there was no use of artificial ligament.

hmm.., interesting case. If there was no use of the artificial ligament in spite of having done an arthroscopic reconstruction surgery.., I don't know whom to blame here.

the patient didnt come for early rehab........otherwise simple suturing of ACL does not take that much time to be back on pre injury function.
