Despite the fact that people know that accumulation in public places, non-compliance with anti-pandemic and sanitary safety rules and guidelines increases the risk of being infected with SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus (causing Covid-19). It happens that people ignore specific anti-pandemic safety rules (e.g. they congregate in public places, do not wear protective masks) because they act under the influence of emotions, more or less consciously take the risk of coronavirus infection. In such situations, it is necessary to increase the role of various media in promoting information on the development of the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus pandemic and the potential negative health effects of Covid-19 disease, social, economic and other effects.

Even Pre-Covid-19 phase has witnessed many social evils like dowry, bride burning, child abuse etc in most educated and affluent families causing a lot of harm.

Now for safe survival when we need to follow strictly the guide lines of masking, sanitizing and distancing , many of us violate, resulting spread of virus threatening life to people - irrespective of lower to middle and upper class.

Muhammed, inasmuch as the advice on social distancing and the application of increased hygiene measures have been issued by governments and health experts in both developing and developed economies, adhering to these has been a challenge partly because old habits die hard. I think it is important that such sensitisation may have to be embedded as part of a new way to seek to change people's behavioural habits for the better. Successfully doing so may take a bit more time than originally anticipated by issuing authorities. Interesting though.

One can lead a horse to water, but we can't make it drink. Only way to stop smoking is a need to prove that mind is in fact greater than matter - and YOU are in control of both. Same goes for walking in crowds; you don't need "show and tell" - because you already know!! You don't have to tell an officer he/she is "right" - they already know that!

I absolutely agree, that knowledge is not enough for changing behaviour. However, I think that knowledge has not been correctly transferred to the public. A great amount if information is transmitted through the media and Internet and people have not the skills to evaluate the information. The public has difficult to realize the really important measures in the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic. Avoidance of gathering and keeping physical distance are really important measures as well as shortening of the time one stays in closed places

I fully agree. In my country, it's boldly inscribed at the back of each packet of cigarettes that "smokers are liable to die young". Knowledge is important for taking decision but it can not change the behavior of a person. Behavior pattern is somewhat related to heredity. Behavioral changes result due to some motivation or desire. However, this aspect varies from person to person. Some peoples can make change of behavior because they want to do it and for others they have to gather enough knowledge before changing behavior.

And when we feel at the subconscious level we don't have to put efforts to bring the change in our behavior. we don't even need the knowledge to support our decisions in such changes and its permanent in nature.

In most cases, I have observed that people who are gathering, protesting and not using masks are not doing so because they do not have knowledge. Many of them would probably be more knowledgeable about this topic than many of us. But still they are doing so. The question that arises in this context is that what is prompting them to do so. Is it rage, a spirit of revolution or anything else?

One thing that occurred to me with Covid-19. In nature (a term used for ideas of consequence outside human societies) when a species overpopulates an environment something occurs to tail back that population. A predator species or disease. Has the human species overpopulated the planet and should we allow nature (disease) to take its course before we eventually land on another planet and over-populate that? Nature is about balance and when a species becomes too successful the lack of balance destroys the immediate environment.
