Keeping Hemolymph in a RNX solution - any thoughts?

Hi,

I want to extract RNA from hemolymph of Pieris brassicae larvae. Since some equipment is not ready yet, I want to kept hemolymph in RNX solution (i.e. solution of my RNA extraction kit) for 2 month. Since hemolymph goes to be darkened due to phenoloxidase activity, is it possible? Moreover, if I extract RNA, will it be intact for 2 month? Thanks.

Hi,

from my experience working with bivalve haemolymph I think would be better to extract the RNA and keep it in that form.

I am using RNA extracts that are older than that... If you need to prepare cDNA, then you are time limited, because you can't keep it for too long.
