Structure borne noise refers to transmission of vibrations having frequencies in the audible range(noise) through connecting structures from a vibrating source and radiation of vibration thereafter from the remote interconnected structure or from the structure of the source to the environment. I am basically commencing my research to characterise this noise in the engine room of a ship. The vibration source under study will be a propulsion engine. This field is generally associated with noise reduction and has a vast research literature in the fields of railways, roadways, aircrafts, buildings, automobiles and shipping. Thus to get a way ahead I need literature on structure borne noise research in the above mentioned fields of application. I hope my answer clarifies your querry.
