I have extracted methanol, ethanol, chloroform and water extracts of fenugreek and I have done DPPH and ABTS assays to determine free radical scavenging activity. However, I got different DPPH and ABTS results (inhibition percentages) for same concentration in same extract. Is that possible??
Yes the data are different because of the different radicals but the trend of IC50 change by all extracts must be the same. DPPH and ABTS data correlate very well.

Yes, it is generally the different results that we found because the two tests have not the same principle, and nowadays, there is not a standard method to evaluate the antioxidant activity.
I agree with Soleya Dagnon. Usually ABTS assay gives better activity than DPPH assay.

Yes of course different results. The ABTS method give you inhibition % very higher than DPPH, with lower IC 50, using the same extract with same concentration .

it is possible because the structure of DPPH different with that of ABTS so the Mechanism, the kinetic and the rate reaction is different.
