I'm working with some programmers at http://www.helixanalytix.com/ who are interested in creating tools for identifying and analyzing DNA methylation. They are looking for a research team that is interested in helping them identify what is is currently lacking in available toolsets, help them design the tools (What data is available?, What do you want as output?), and then participate in a beta test of these tools. Robert, I believe the plan would be to use gene sequences that are freely available in the gene databanks. This would be more for use at the research level, not at the level of diagnostics. Though, if there's a research team out there that wants to create a tool specifically for diagnostics, it is possible. Of course it would have to go through many layers of regulations, clinical trials ect to keep the very things that you are concerned about from happening.
