I'm collecting selected weather parameters such as air temperature, wind speed, RH etc to study the development of UHI phenomenon in Kuala Lumpur for few years period. It's very difficult to manage and analyse such big set of data. Our research team suggested to use R statistical software. Any experts to assist me since this is the first time I'm exposing myself to R and I found that it's not that user friendly. Suggestions are welcomed. Can also contact me via [email protected]. R is fairly easy to learn, at least the basics, but of course there is a learning curve and it takes some time and effort. An on-line site called The Analysis Factor has courses in it (which you must pay for). I haven't checked, but I would guess the internet (e.g. YouTube) has many free tutorials. There are probably some good textbooks out there too.
One good thing about R is that the user community has created hundreds of functions and procedures to do pretty much anything you want. You can google what you want to accomplish and find code to accomplish this. But take the time to learn the basics first. It's totally free!
