I am very much interested in this project as i am also working of SLM of metal matrix composite. But i have some queries regarding this project; are you trying to do laser melting of alloys such as stainless steel, some Titanium alloy and many other or you are trying to do alloying during laser melting.

Your question is not too much confusing! Of course, the well-known technique is a printing metallic parts employing EBM and/or SLM from pre-alloyed powders. But in this case, you need have a powder-production line nearby your AM line, and then you are restricted.
We are trying now to develop in-situ alloying technique, when the required alloy is in-situ produced from elemental powders just throughout printing. You can find my last publication hear in the Research Gate, but I attach it for you.
