Hi, since years ago, I wrote a framework for IDS based NS2, but it was not work well good. Today, there is a framework for network attack and  IDS named NETA based on OMNET. Although your also should code very much in oder to implement your project, I think that would be a good start for you.

I can not answer your question easily based your provided information. Actually, MATLAB is a good simulation tool, especially for signal processing and telecommunication. If your want to capture detailed information or data in lower layer(like PHY or MAC as well as Radio), I suppose you should choose MATLAB or Python(Based on scipy library, you can also get MATLAB-like result.) However, when you simulating network attacks and intrusion detecting systems, I do not think MATLAB would be a good choice although we can also use several MATLAB-based network simulator(True-time).

A precision: NETA framework is oriented agents ?

Because my architecture is based MAS (Multi Agents System) and use à CBR approach.

Actually I am not vert familiar with your field. however, as far as I'm concerned, no matter in In multi-agents system or IoT systems, from the perspective of telecommunication and networking ,all of them are similar. Therefore, I suppose that OMNET++ and MATLAB are all okay for your demand.
