Nothing is impossible, with hard work and effort, you can achieve anything.
I think one should continue. First look closely at the criticisms of the reviewers and then find out how one can provide answers to questions as well as perhaps collecting more data or explaining a concept more clearly. Then resubmit the paper to another journal. Never give up so long as you believe that your work is valuable and worthy of publication.

In the first place is your own assurance in your project-paper-ideas etc. In second place your need to put it in words-actions and learn fron the reacctions of relevant Others.
After a large failure you might want to give up and it will make continuing hard. But, you should take it as a chance to prove that you are, and can become, better than you were before.
History has shown us many success stories built on the accumulation of mistake corrections or lack of understanding or even sad endings, diligence and perseverance overcome in the end and ideas don't die. When you persevere you win at least yourself and when you quit you lose everything
On the contrary, Every failed attempt reinvigorates and energises to fight back with more zeal. But it varies from person to person i.e. whether one is a quitter or a fighter. It is under such circumstances that our faith plays a very very crucial role. Also, history is full of examples where perseverance and determination have ultimately paid dividends. Abraham Lincon, Thomas Alva Edison are examples we can take inspiration from.
It goes with a popular and wise saying "winners never quit; quitters never win". Times without number many study outcomes that are eventually picked for laurel recognition have one time or the other been rejected by another journal. It shows that no one has a monopoly of knowledge. The reviewers are just trying their best. This is a good rethink for our Editors. The Editors themselves sometimes not fair enough but are obsessed with what will increase their impact factors or wider readership, many papers have been knocked out upon these aspects.
