Isotopic activities should influence chemical reactions, synthesis. Does anybody know of any particular research as to address this problem?
Are there any problems that we are facing in the industrial or pharmaceutical practice concerning isotopic activities?
Or perhaps we have a combination of isotopic activity and other activities that interact?
What are the isotopes we may talk about or have under observation in the most common areas of research in chemistry, organic or inorganic?
What are the atoms we may look closer at?
What is known, proved or at least of hypothetical nature in this area of concern?
I hope I made myself understood as is not really my line of specialty.
Thanks to all members in advance and perhaps we can work something out; a research project may be borne out of this as team work? It is multidisciplinary complex subject that perhaps is worthwhile to try to unveil.

This has been a field of study for many years. I have not studied it in any detail myself, but have read about it over the years from time to time. For organic chemistry the most common study is on relative reaction rates of deuterium and hydrogen. I think the main mechanism for isotopic influence on reaction rates is that the different masses of the isotopes lead to different vibration frequencies and from there to different reaction rates. I would start by searching the literature for such phrases as "deuterium isotope effect" Some of those articles are likely to cite more general articles.

What about isotopes of carbon, nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus?
Are we looking only from the vibration frequencies point of view or are there other properties and/or activities that influences chemical reactions or the nature/properties of the resulting synthesized chemical compound ?

I can't really answer your questions because I was never directly involved in this subject. I just took note of it in reading science over many years. My guess is that there is a lot more to it than just vibrational frequencies. Also, since the relative mass differences in the H:D system are greater than for any other element, the effects are more pronounced and easier to measure there.
