Imagine a hotel booking system. Users give some information to search engine and find some hotels in the app. then they use some configurations like "sorting by popularity, discount, ..." and pick their choice and reserve the hotel (This is the routine in app).
In this way, I was thinking that if we could gather some information about the users in application (Users which ended the process with booking and the users which ended the process in not booking), so we can make a model that could predict the user behavior.
This "User Modeling" can help the company in many ways like evaluating the search engine results much faster.
I am writing to ask anybody that could help me find some good resources like papers, articles, theses, ....

Though I would separate the result of selection with the search itself. The search method does not determine the final selection. What you might be looking for is to narrow down the "choice path" as given in section 3 of the reference. The minimization of the choice path might be evaluated in the search by the precision and recall required for the particular implementation scenario and user profile.
